Perspective on William Nolan’s indoor state record

Cheyenne South junior William Nolan had a state indoor track meet to remember March 5 in Gillette. Nolan won the 200-meter dash, triple jump and long jump and placed third in the 400-meter dash.

His triple jump mark of 48 feet, 5¼ inches broke an eight-year-old state record set by Laramie’s Stephen Michel. He also set school records in the long jump (22-7½) and 400 (51.55 seconds).

That alone would have made for a remarkable weekend.
