An idea for saying goodbye to Okie Blanchard Stadium

UCLA and USC used to share the Rose Bowl and there have been a few times recently that they've both worn their home tops when they've played in the Rose Bowl. So East's blue and Central's red would work and look really cool. Photo by Associated Press

LCSD1 may enhance Riske Field

One thing that I learned while reporting my story about the Okie Blanchard Sports Complex currently being built over at Cheyenne East was that Laramie County School District 1 also has done conceptual work for enhancements at Cheyenne Central’s Riske Field.

Those concepts include additional permanent seating on the north side of Riske Field. Central started playing football games on its own home field in 2001 and that space presents challenges because it’s sandwiched in the tight confines between the school and a creek. It also has had drainage issues in the past.

The concepts also include the relocation of the existing concessions building or the addition of a concessions building.
