Last week: Central won at Evanston, 31-0. East lost to top-seeded Gillette, 41-6.

Last meeting: East won 33-15 at Central on Oct. 4.

Facts: Central has overhauled its defense moving from a front with four down linemen to five. They also have inserted sophomore Jacob Carbaugh in at safety and he’s had two interceptions. Senior Joe Whiteaker has also moved in at linebacker.

“When we made the switch, we didn’t know if we could play that as well as we have and we still don’t really know,” Central coach Brick Cegelski said. “We’re still rookies at it. We used to play a 50 all the time here when we were early in our coaching career, but we went to a 40 because we couldn’t find three down linemen. Our kids are really trying and I’ve really liked what I’ve seen.”
